舅舅和钓获的马鲛鱼拍照的pose还蛮帅的!

这就是我的舅舅...他教了我怎么钓鱼. 这张照片是他从马来西亚寄来新加坡给我看的, 他拿住的两条鱼就是我们所曾为的马鲛鱼. 这些较大又较凶的鱼是需要用拉鱼的方法来钓它们... 他们最小只也有4公斤. 我看了这张照片后觉得是蛮有趣的... 所以我跟去了. 以下有两个video是我们在拉鱼的时后用手机录下的! 拉鱼让我留下了深刻的印象...谢谢, 舅舅!

ANOTHER SMALL GAME TURNING INTO BIG GAME!

YAY! Just at Pasir Panjang, we caught this bamboo shark...or rather, a large bamboo shark. This fish weighing 2.5kg is caught using earthworm. SO COOL AR... Like that also can strike 1st...HAHAS. This is medium weight game fishing!

Set record for grouper! YAY!

This is a Spotted Coral grouper... And this is my personal record in fishing...grouper! HAHAS! So shiok, when got this. Tugging hard, pespiring! Is 8.5kg... Actually not lots of story to tell.,.SO I END HERE AR?... Look at picture. Then you will know already...

Barracuda feeding time! Barracudas are one of the best tasting fish ans are as well as the strongest fighting fish... They are known as the "tigers of the sea" They are very fierce fish which swim together in groups. On tha that time, we were all so sian...and decided to lure the other side. 2 hours later...fish bite. JIU JIU did the first strike, and reeled the fish in. Kind of SHIOK! Reeled like more than 5 mins. Saw it and used the gaff to gaff it up and there goes...9kg monster BARRACUDA!

SUCCESSFUL LURING...

On the 29th November 2009, Sunday... I went fishing with my uncle using lures. We all woke up at 6am. Got ready and out we went. We were so excited, especially me, a first- time lurer. We went for breakfast at 7am and reach the club at 8am. Boardrd the Stargazer at 9am, around there. Anyway, Stargazer is the name of the boat we went out with...We opened the tackle box and chose the lure with the brightest color...It was a rapala one...It is about 3 inches long. We casted and lure followed, 3 hours later first bite came, tug and lost. LOL! Next bite...15 mins later. Knew that it was hooked properly. So SHIOK! I did not fight it because I was afraid I lost the fish. So my uncle fought the biggie! Reeled up, it was a Spanish Mackerel. 4 kilograms on the dot. WHOA!

First time trying crab trapping in Malaysia!

This was the first time that my uncle brought me to crab trapping in Malaysia...it's unbelievable, so fun and interesting. We got quite some catches as you can see from the pictures. Just hit the scale at 2kg plus...HAHA! At night, we went to steamboat to eat the delicious crabs. Your saliva don't drip ah!!! LOL! Hope there is another time! Ah Di, Jien Xin and family, I will miss you all...I November go back Sitiawan see you all again, ok? 一言为定! Sayonara!

BEST RECORD, ALL BIGGIES!

Gone Fishing! Good Fishing! Best Fishing! Nice Fishing! FISHING ROCKS! OkOk...I will go straight to the story. On the 8th June, we went to Pulau Sembilan to fish with Yi Chao ,my uncle and the other. This is the first time we got BIG fishes. We got some grouper, also known as '石斑' and some Two-spot Red Snappers and Golden Snapper, known as '红皂'. We got the largest grouper in my record. We reeled the 23kg monster grouper for about 7-10 minutes to get this fish up. I was very exhausted and passed the rod to Yi Chao, he reeled up the fish in 3 minutes time. NICE! My uncle also caught a large snapper...HAHA! I was very happy. After packing up, we went to my uncle's cousin house to give him the fishes to sell as he is a fishmonger. Yi Chao and I was a little bit dissapointed, but we still have some snappers at home for dinner...HAHA! After that, we headed home as we are exhausted for reeling the whole morning!!

Nice Catch, Considered quite LUCKY!

Today is the last day of my mid-year exams, that is also my last paper. After my paper, my father called me to tell me that he wants to bring me out to fish so as to celebrate! LOL! So shiok! We got to the pier at around 12pm. Got our things and tackle ready...WE set out to the coastal waters of pulau ubin, also the breeding ground of many fishes, especially stingrays and groupers. First, we went to the kelong, a floating fish farm to buy some fresh sotong to use as bait. After that, we set out to pulau ubin. Casting the line, waiting...a tug at last, a gulama. Casted again, 20- 30 minutes later, strong tug came. Guessed what is that, HAHA, a stingray. Casted and cast again and again, we also decided to put some crab traps. Till the end, we have caught 5 stingrays, 1 scat, 1 barracuda, 3 bamboo sharks, 28 flower crab and 1 spotted sickle fish. LUCKY DAY!

SMALL GAME FISHING OFF PULAU UBIN...

Fishing is always fun...YUP, I agree. More and more anglers from all over the world are targeting big game fishes such as tarpon, snooks, redfish, sharks, stingrays and snappers...Sad thing to say, sometimes, my father and I do big game fishing off the coast and most of the time, SMALL GAME FISHING...mostly at pulau ubin. During another small game fishing trip off pulau ubin, I finally caught my third stingray, although it looks small, it already hit the scale at 1.5kg. The pictures I showed above are some of the fishes caught by me and my father during the second small game fishing trip 2009...

WENT TO PUNGGOL TO FISH...

Fishing at Punggol, seems familiar...On the 17th March 2009, my father and I went to Punggol Pier to fish on the boat, just on the boat...Guess what we caught, good catches...A snapper, pink-eared emperor, silver biddy, 5 remora fish, more than 10 catfish and a few good sized flower crab...The picture above shows one of the remora fish and a 2 kilograms monster catfish...

DURING THE NEW YEAR PERIOD 2009...

During the Chinese New Year period 2009, my family and I went to Malaysia, my mother's hometown to celebrate the new year...As we reached there on Saturday, my uncle, whose hobby is fishing, too, called me and my father to accompany him to fish the next morning, Sunday. My uncle himself own a 'sampan', a small boat used by fisherman, usually...We are all excited. On Sunday morning, we woke up at 6am in the morning, took a shower, went to the local coffeeshop, ate our breakfast, bought the earthworms as baits and set out to the boat parking place known as Pasir Panjang. We boarded the boat at 7am sharp and went out to the bigger sea to fish...We fished for a moment and I felt a tug on my rod. I waited for a while more and this time the tug with even harder...I set the hook immediately and to my surprise, came a baby bamboo shark...It was like...imagining too much...you would have thought, what kind of sharks would eat earthworms?!?!?! Same here...I'm also thinking!!! Am I going crazy?

CAUGHT MY SECOND STINGRAY IN DECEMBER 2008...

Went to Punggol Jetty on this stormy day and lucky enough, I got my second stingray...I hooked my bait- sotong and casted the line out...My rod was lying there innocently when I looked at it the first time. The second time I turned around and looked at it, the rod was tugging and the line was running out! WHAT A SUDDEN TUG! I fought the fish for about fifteen minutes and to my surprise, my second stingray is here. WHAT A LUCKY DAY!

MY FIRST STINGRAY...

My first stingray is landed on the 26th July 2008, that is just one day before my sister's birthday, that 2 day 1 night boat trip was indeed a memorable one...My father thought of going for the 2 day 1 night trip is for us to celebrate my sister's birthday, on board...Actually, its my sister's rod that the rod bell started ringing, the fish was tugging and the line was running out as the fish is swimming at a fast speed motion...My sister set the hook and bullseye, the fish was on hook. My sister found it quite heavy after the fish was swimming here and there and she is tire out. She called out to me as I was just next to her...I helped her to tame the monster and at last, we landed the 2 kilo plus brown stingray...

THIS COMING MONDAY, THE 16TH MARCH...

This coming Monday, which is the 16th March 2009, my father going bring me to Bedok Jetty again...Quite excited, actally. But since the last time I went to Bedok Jetty and came home without anything- that means no fish lar! I had been discouraged already...Hope that this coming trip on Monday would be a memorable one...With lots of good fish...Yup...really hope that we can catch something good!

WENT TO BEDOK JETTY...

During the December holidays, my father brought me to Bedok Jetty...I did a lot of research about Bedok Jetty before we went to fish there...After researching, I also found out that Bedok Jetty is one of the most famous fishing spots and many monster fishes were also landed there...We went there to fish but the other half of the jetty is closed. We fished for about 3 hours and got nothing! Except for 2 pufferfish...Maybe it is because of the blockage that we can't go to the extreme end of the jetty and all the big fish are at the extreme end! SO ANNOYING!

FOUND MY FAVOURITE BIRD-CATCHING HOBBY!

During the New Year period 2009, My father and uncle brought me to a new experience...Catching birds. That was their past times when they are kampong kids...They brought me and my cousin, Jacky to go and catch birds. It is some kinda trap made up of invisible string, like loops...very fun, actually. The bird was known as 'ku-ku' or spotted dove/spotted turtle dove. Their cooing sounds are very pleasant and peaceful. I like it very much. They are heavily trapped to be sold as cage-birds or to enter bird-singing competitions. If it is a 'good' one, it may be sold as much as a few thousand dollars or more. NICE EXPERIENCE!

NOTHING THESE FEW DAYS...

These few days did went fishing, but there wasn't anything during some trips...WHY? Who can I ask? Only sometimes can get small stingrays but most of the time, nothing...even the angler's bait stealer, the catfish also not many liao...WHY? Is it because of the population increase in Singapore, so more people are picking up fishing as their hobby? Ya, let me tell you something more. That day when I went fishing, guess what I saw? I actually saw some dead marine catfish floating on the waters...sometimes can even see some dead snappers floating...Is it because of water pollution?

TOOK FISHING AS A HOBBY

Since primary 3, I have already took fishing as my hobby, and I did not make a wrong choice. Instead, it was a superb choice. I love myself for this. I picked up this hobby from my father, as well as my uncle. Both of them love fishing and often go out to sea to fish in Malaysia and even in Singapore. Till now, we, the three 'fishermen', still go out to sea to fish. Sometimes, we are tired of going out to the sea, we will go to some places like beaches or even jetties to fish. The fishes there are also not bad, sometimes when we are lucky, we will get good fishes like snappers, groupers or even bamboo sharks are also available. But if we are the unlucky ones, we may even get nothing even if we go there for the entire day...
